A Message from Steve Howe

“On behalf of my wife Jan and all our family & his loved ones, we would like
to thank everyone who has written so movingly to us following the sudden
death of our younger son, Virgil Howe, at age 41. Your messages are helping

Virgil’s love for his daughter was paramount.

What a shock. I can’t imagine. I had just read in Prog magazine about the album the two of you had done together and was so looking forward to hearing what brilliance was going to pop out at me. I loved that Virgil had created melodies from his piano and synths and that you had worked with him to develop them into full compositions. Hang in there Steve.

I have enyed your music since i was 13 years old.

i was so sad to hear about your son.

i lost my only son three years ago. It was horrible.

Now I have incurable kidney cancer and hope to join him in heaven soon. But the damn medicine is working, so now i worry about running out of money (the ex~wife lost our retirement).

I hope all is well with you and your family.

    Dear Steve and Family ,
We were lucky enough to have met Virgil on a train trip to Brighton where he was appearing in a theatre production and we had a really nice conversation with him and I he explaining to us about his famous father was in a really famous band which to be honest had passed us bye, but to be honest he really stood out to us as a really nice guy .So shocked at this news as I was watching a program on Yes and explaining to my wife that I was watching you and looked you up and Virgil and this came as a complete shock. So very sorry for your loss.

  19. Don’t know how I missed this, I was ill in Sept. So very sorry for your loss, sending prayers for you and Jan. (at times like these it’s handy to have a minister wife) I have faced a lot of loss in the last few years, people say it get better, I’ve found it doesn’t, but you learn better ways to live with it. Have seen you with Yes and Asia and solo 19 times, looking forward to more. Many thanks, and again, so sorry. Gary & Linda
