Best known as the guitarist for Yes, the most successful progressive rock band in history, Steve Howe has been mesmerising audiences with his astonishing skill and virtuosity for over 50 years.
During his time with Yes, the band notched up a total of 13 UK Top 40 albums, including 10 which reached the Top 10 and two number one’s. They sold more than 30 million records worldwide and performed to enormous audiences, with some concert attendances in excess of 100,000 and a record 16 consecutive sold out nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden. After their initial split in 1981, Steve formed successful prog-rock super groups Asia and GTR before returning to a reunited Yes.
Inspired from an early age by the likes of Segovia and Julian Bream, Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell, Big Bill Broonzy and Albert Lee, who took the guitar further than what was riding high in the pop charts, Steve has also released over 20 acclaimed solo albums throughout his career, incorporating jazz, classical and folk as well as rock, pop and blues. This year sees him return to support the release of his solo anthology, playing familiar works and new tunes, plus various arrangements of Yes songs and other pieces he’s picked up along the way.
